Over the years, the current Festival has morphed into the inclusive event with a strong focus on participation and encouragement to perform. It grew from a Eisteddfod and has taken on feedback from The Arts sector in the region to cotinue to allow for performance artists, musicians, writers, film makers and dancers to gather. From those starting to develop and nurture their skills through to experienced individuals, all are welcome and supported.
In recent years, skill development workshops in Music, Drama and Dance have extended opportunities beyond the week of Festival. This year we look forward to Vocal Workshops, and perhaps more.... Watch this space for this year's workshops.
The event offers a program including, verse speaking and drama, film making, vocal and chorale, creative writing, storytelling, comedy, dance and an instrumental section.
Incredible enthusiasm, time and effort goes into the organization of this Festival, and the Performing Arts Festival Committee welcome volunteers. Without their commitment to making this festival happen, it wouldn't be the fabulous event that it is.
We also appreciate when people take time to come and join the audience for performances - giving performers a house to play to.
